The Ballad of Bubba and Clem

The words composed by Jeannine Lehman (all rights reserved) to the tune of Paul Henning's Ballad of Jed Clampet, theme song of the Beverly Hillbillies originally performed by Flat and Scruggs for the TV classic.

Let me tell you a story of two red neck guys

from lower Alabama, neither one was quite the prize.

While one came from money, the other one did not.

To win a big State Lottery, that is what he sought.

He didn't, but his daddy did. Big daddy! Big bucks!

With a fist full of dollars, they went hunten fer some fun.

Looked around south LA and couldn't find em none.

So theys took up dat scuba stuff, and that was pretty cool

Then they decided to build themseves a big dive shop and pool.

In New Jerk City that is. Big Apple! Big buildings! Big pockets!

In an old gas station our heroes Bubba and Clem

Planned to build themseves a scuba emporium

but they couldn't get their zoning so they were soon on the move -

They decided that in Atlanta theyed be in de groove.

Southern bells! Bar B Q! Varsity Drive Inn chile dogs!

Now back in Southern land our red necks do quite well.

They own a huge scuba store and every brand they sell.

They even have their own web place - its really quite a bomb.
