Celebrate, Celebrate, Dance to the Music, Rich Folks Style

It just about time to head out to Colorado to Homer Ewing's shindig to celebrate the rescue of his lovely daughters. Seems that Homer is a sending a jet to Belize to pick up ole Few Parkey and Teressa and another jet to Atlanta to fetch Bubba and Clem and Vic the SEAL and the Sorysota, FL, scuba man who flewed a Delta jet to Atlanta to meet the boys in the band.

Bubba is a wondering what billionaires do at a party and what do they have to ate and drank. Being that ole Homer is a country boy at heart even id he is worth over 26 billion dollers, Bubba guesses that the spread will be proper and the music one or the other of both kinds of music - country and western.

The girls telled Bubba and Clem that there would be sum famous folks there too, mayber even a former President of the US of A. The girls miss Bubba and Clem a heap and can't wait to see them again.

All this pondering hads done got Bubba and Clem a hungry. Bubba ops for some barbecue. They get in Clems Vette and head down to Newnan in Coweta County, about an hour drive away. Theys a reel great barbecue joint there a called Sprayberry's. Clem 'members that it was a favorite of the late, great Lewis Grizzard, a Coweta County boy hisself, from over in Moreland. That's the little town where the Sorysota, FL, scuba man's mamma were born at. The each has a barbecue pork plate and a tall ice tea, this is the reel Georgia kinda ice tea, the kind what is so sweet that you can float a quarter on it. They finish up with a big ole hunk of apple pie.

As they drive back to Atlanta, theys talk about the Colorado trip and wonder what the party will be like. They kinda look forward to seeing the gals too.

The Sorysota, FL, scuba man is due in on a Delta jet from Tamper, FL, at 7 tonight. Bubba goes to fetch him in his new Fod pickem up truk. He axes Bubba to run by the Varsity on the way to Bubba's house. Bubba has no problem with this. They actually go inside and order theys feed at the 150-foot long stainless steel counter. Bubba has 9 chile dawgs and his pal orders 6. Then its off to Bubba's house and sum rest cause the Ewing jet will pick em up early tomorrow.

Homer's jet picks up the four friends and zooms off to Colorado. They are driven from the airport to Homer's place. It looks more like a hotel than his winter get away ski place. This place be empressive, Bubba wonders what his place in Texas is like.

Homer's house staff shows they fellers to theys rooms. The guys shower up and put on fresh clothes and head down to the great room to visit with Homer And the girls. Homer is quite the hunter, as we learnt in previous tales, and theys heads of all kinda critters on the 20-foot tall walls of this room.

Homer tells thewm that the party is for tonight starting with a simple buffett supper. There will be a band for dancing too. Homer axes the fellers if they minded him inviting a few of his friends too. He is having President George and Barbara Bush, and a few other impotent peoples.

The ex President and his charming wife are introduced to the fellers and everybody heads off to the buffet line. Bubba is astonished at the display of vittles. Of course the President and Barbara go first. Old George is so happy and surprised to find Varsity chili dogs on the buffet, he ate at the Varsity back when he was the big boss man of the US of A. There is fresh lobster flown in from Belize, fried catfish, oysters on the shell half, scallops, fried french taters and rings of onions, sausage and biscuits, and a plethora of salads and desert things. Homer knows how to feed Southern folks, and well the President is kinda Southern.

Bubba eats hisself into a coma, but the wonderful tunes from the band a wake him up. Out on the veranda, the band is starting to play and the dancen to begin. Homer got Vince Gill and his band to play this gig. Vince is a singing one of Bubba's favorite songs, "Go Rest High on That Mountain". Bubba and Clem and the girls join President and Barbara Bush, along with Homer and his wife Sue Ellen on the dance floor. Few Parkey done passed out from eating.

The party last til the wee hours. After The President and his wife left, Homer calls the gang to the great room where he has a gift for each of the rescuers. He proposes a toast to these brave men and Teresa for what theys all did in saving his daughters. In each envelop is a deposit slip showing that $1,000,000 has been deposited in each persons bank account. He also then tells them that a brand new Corvette has been purchased at the Chevy dealer in Sorysota, Fl, and Atlanta, Ga, for each person. Instead of new Vettes for Few and Teresa, where they wouldn't be much use in Belize, Homer done ordered them two new dive boats. Jaws drop to the floor, nobody expected this. Homer says its a small token of his appreciation, and jokingly said its cheaper than paying the ransom demand. Homer has tears in his eyes, heck he says, its my party and I'll cry if I want too.

Time for sum well deserved rest.... who knows what tomorrow will bring.
