Bubba and Clem at DEMA 4

It Saturday and the lastest day of the diving show. Our heroes wanna make the most of it.

They is a gonna make the most of it. First of all theys gonna go to the sign em up booth and make reservations for a hotel next year for the DEMA show in Lost Vagas. Theys gonna stay at the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino. They book 12 rooms for theys friends too. Then theys gonna visit with the other manufactures that they ain't had no time for yet.

Theys gonna have breakfast with the Walker's Cay folks over at the Cafe De Monde down near the French Market across Decatur Street from Michael Jackson's Square. Bubba wonders how that one gloved feller got such a pretty square a named for him?

When theys get there Brenda and Gary Adkinson and Britnay, theys 13 year old daughter and Barry is already there. Bubba orders 37 of them beignet kinda donuts. He orders him a hot chocolat milk and clem gets a cafe au lait, whatever that is. Bubba knowes that is more book smarter than him, 'specially with them yankee and ferign words. Bubba wonders how Barry and Gary can eat them beignets and not get that powder suger all over theyselves. He sure can't.

They take a cab over to the Convention Place and go theys separate ways. Bubba is meeting the Sorysota, FL, scuba man at the DAN Oxygen rebreather-training course. Bubba axes the scuba man who Dan is? He must be a famous diver to get his name used by these safety folks.

Lunch time comes but the boys is too busy to go for some gooder feed, so theys eat at the Convention Place. Bubba orders him a cheeseburger for $9.82 and a Coke A Coler, you bet they don't got no RC Cokes there in New Awrlenes. This ain't no cheeseburger in paradise. Rudy, theys guard dawg wouldn't eat it. Out to be a law against the prices theys charge ya fer that aweful feed in convention places.

The afternoon passes quickly as they spend a bunch of time a talking to Few Parkey and his lovely lady Teresa about diving in Belize. Theys gonna go and visit Few in a couple weeks. He promised to take them tubing in an underground river too. Few telled them to look up his web place at www.belizediving.com when theys get home.

Time to catch the last shuttling bus to theys Holiday Out Hotel in the Quarter. They is all excited about the show. Clem only spented $123,004.84 on new goods for the Bubba and Clem Dive Emporium and Gas Station at this DEMA show. Theys also reel excited about supper wid the rescued ladies.

They done had a call from them a telling them that they were gonna take them to a 34 star eating place in the Garden District called Commanders Palace. They would have to wear a coat and tie too. Bubba wondered if that means he gotta were underbritches also?

They goes down from theys 10th floor room to the loby to meet the girls. Wow, Bubba is a stopped dead in his tracts as he spies the most beautiful creatures he has ever seed. The lovely ladies is all duded up and smell so good. Clem asks if he needs to call a cab but the womens say that they have a car waiting outside on Royal Street. When the boys get out the door they see this long black car, must be a quarter mile long, waiting for them. A feller in a fancy uniform opens the door for everybodys.

The driver must have already knowed where theys were going since he didn't axe no directions. He drives over to the Garden District and pulls up Washington Ave to 1403 and the elegant restaurant. They all get out and the head man shows them to a table. Bubba is scared he don't know how to eat with 13 forks and a bunch of spoons, he figgers he will order what the ladies order and eat just like them.

The ladies order Shrimp Remoulade for an appetizer whilst Clem gets a bowl of Turtle Soup. Bubba gets Tasso-Stuffed Shrimp. The main meal consists of Veal Chop Tchoupitoulas. Desert is Chocolate fudge Sheba. The food is marvelous and the company even better. Turns out that the ladies is sisters from over in Dallas, Texas and that theys daddy is a reel famous oil man with more money that a red neck can count. The ladies invite Bubba and Clem to go out on a riverboat that they hired just for them and see the city lightds from the middle of that big ole Mississippi River. Bubba axes if he can drive the boat?

Turns out that the girls has been wanting to scuber dive and will fly Bubba and Clem anywhere they want to go in daddy's jet plane to learn them how. Clem says that Walker's Cay would be the perfect place since its got everything there. They set a date for about a month from now. The plane will pick up our heroes in Atlanta and fly to Ft Lauderdale, FL, where they will hop on a seaplane to go to Walker's. The runstrip at Walker's ain't big enough for the Gulfstream of theys daddy.

Bubba and Clem is a reflecting on how lucky they is...
