Down Under, Inc. is pleased to offer the important and exciting DAN/PADI Oxygen
First Aid in Diving Accidents course
This course represents entry-level training
designed to educate the general diving (and qualified non-diving) public to
recognize possible dive-related injuries and provide emergency oxygen first aid
while activating the local emergency medical services (EMS) and/or arranging for
evacuation to the nearest available medical facility.
For the two years following certification in this
course, a person is considered competent to provide pre-EMS emergency oxygen as
adjunctive first aid to injured divers.*
This class is essential for all divers and dive
boat operators.

*At no time may
emergency oxygen first aid be used in lieu of evaluation and definitive care
provided by a medical facility or qualified healthcare professional
Course
Admission Requirements
Minimum age of 12 years.
CPR certification by a nationally recognized
agency is required ( Red Cross, American Heart Association, Medic, PADI/Medic
First Aid).

DAN/PADI O2 Course Costs
The cost of the course is $95.00. You will get
both DAN and PADI certification.
A $25.00 non-refundable deposit will reserve a
space for you.

O2 Course Schedule
This 4 hour course comprises classroom
instruction, a video presentation and hands-on use of the state-of-the-art DAN
oxygen equipment (including the demand regulator, non-rebreather mask, and the
pocket mask). Each student will administer and receive oxygen in multiple
scenarios during the course. Practice on a nonbreathing patient will be
performed on a mannequin. There will be a standard DAN final examination.
Each student will receive the latest copy of the
DAN First Aid and Oxygen Manual. Upon successful completion of the class, each
student will receive his/her DAN certification card , the PADI certification
card will be mailed to the student in about 3 weeks.

INSTRUCTOR
COURSE
DAN Oxygen Provider Instructor Course is also
available. This course is a 8 hour program that is conducted in conjunction with
a provider course ( the 8 hours are after the provider course ).
Prerequisites for this course are as follows:
Current active scuba instructor - any agency for
the DAN Instructor certification, if PADI Specialty Instructor certification is
wanted, you must be a current teaching status PADI Instructor or new Assistant
Instructor.
Current DAN oxygen provider ( can be completed
during the course )
