James W "Jim" Young and Beulah Lee
James
W "Pappy" Young, my great-grandfather, was born in 1834 and died
June 30, 1931. He married Beulah Lee
( b 1865 - d September 27, 1949 ) at the Lee home in Loan Oak, GA, and had the
following children: Bessie, Cora, Joe Robert, Omie, Ethel, Clara Beulah, Louise,
Willie May, Mary, Sid, Lucy and Carrie ( died as children ), Lee.
He lived in the White Oak community area of
Coweta County, GA, near Moreland, GA, and farmed cotton on his land. His home is
still standing today. His land is on what is now called Bear
Creek Road.
His
home like his
fathers, just down the road, was a
gathering place for his family's many friends and was know as the "Jim
Young Place".
He is buried at Whiteoak
ARP Church in Coweta County, GA,
along with his wife and several of his children - Lucy, Carrie, Louise, Mary,
Clara, Sid, and Lee. Williw
Mae is buried at Sharpsburg, GA, Baptist Church cemetery. Cora
and Omie are buried at West View Cemetery in Atlanta, GA; Ethyl is buried at
Loan Oak, GA; Bessie is buried in Grantville, GA; Joe Robert is buried in
Fitzgerald, GA.
