The Patriot in the Weed Patch

On November 19, 2002, my Mother and I visited the reinternment sitr of the grave of Frederick Gray and the 5 unknowns ( from the original Frederick Gray Cemetery ).

The site is located at Salem Cemetery, a couple of miles North of Calhoun Falls, SC, on SC State Road 81.

After searching the cemetery for the graves, we finally found them in the far NE corner of the cemetery in a weed patch where the grass covered the grave(s) and was completely unkempt.

I was embarrassed and then my emotions went from mad as hell to we are going to fix this. No way is this suitable for the final resting place of a Patriot.

The Trustees of this cemetery took money from the US Army Corps of Engineers for the grave site. The rest of the cemetery is well kept.
