Advanced Open Water Diver Class

Whether you're newly certified or have hundreds of logged dives under your belt, when you're looking for new underwater experiences, new skills, and FUN, look to our PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Class - your open door to diving adventure.

When you imagine underwater adventure, what turns you on or ignites your imagination? Diving on a wreck? Diving from a boat? Diving at night? Diving with a computer? Its all possible and included in FDU's PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Class.

FDU as well as PADI, recommend taking the Advanced class as soon as possible after completing your Open Water Diver class. This will allow you to develop new dive skills under Instructor supervision.

FDU's PADI Advanced class costs $309.00

If time is a problem, enroll in the 1 day class called Adventure Diver class; all dives done there (3 dives - all in 1 day ) will count toward the AOW class, and to complete the AOW, you will need only 2 more dives ( this program is outlined )

In our Advanced class, you will be introduced to specialty areas of diving such as Night Diving, Navigation, Computer Diving, Deep Diving, Wreck Diving, and Boat Diving.

To enroll in a class we must have a $100.00 per person, non-refundable deposit to hold your space. The class size is limited ( never more than 6 ). You will be issued your software when enrolling so that you can get the home study completed prior to the start of your class.

You must be 15 years of age or older ( a Junior Advanced class certification is available for those under 15 ) and be certified as an open water diver ( any agency ) to enroll.

You must complete the Knowledge Reviews from the software. These must be turned in to your Instructor prior to certification.

Quite often we are asked the question "why should I take the Advanced class?"

The best reason to take the Advanced class is to gain experience in different realms of diving and at different locations.

Another reason for taking the class is that a growing number of diving operators require Advanced certification to make dives deeper than 60 feet.

It is widely accepted that to become a good, comfortable diver, one needs to make about 20 dives. It is always recommended to make the dives under instructor supervision in order to prevent the development of bad habits.

Each diver must provide his/her scuba equipment ( BC, regulator with instruments including a compass, tanks { rentals available }, weights, dive light { rentals available }, a Cylume stick, and appropriate exposure suit.  Rentals available. Each student must also provide 2 color passport photos
