Florida Down Under, Inc., has been a leader in diver education and innovation in Florida since 1980. One of our goals from the beginning is to provide our customers with the best in education, service travel and equipment advise.

Some of the Firsts for FDU include:

First to teach ONLY the PADI OW class and never the now defunct Basic class

First in the area to offer continuing education classes

First in area to train young children to dive ( back when PADI allowed it ).

First in area to have a PADI Course Director(s) on staff

First PADI Five Star IDC Center in area

First to require the use of an alternate air source

First dive operator in area to be fully computerized - point of sale, accounting, inventory

First in area to offer dive charters every day

First dive operator in area to donate boat to charity events

First dive boat in area to have DAN Oxygen system on board

First in area to train DAN Oxygen Provider Instructors

First TDI Training Facility in area

First in area to offer rental dive computers

First in area to use in instructional program and rent u/w communication devices

First dive operator in area to use a UV1 Dive Sled to locate new dive sites

First dive operator in area to have a licensed travel agent on staff
