Open water Diver
CLASS MAKE-UP POLICY
1. CLASSROOM SESSIONS: Any student who attends and does not successfully
complete ( pass ) a classroom session and requires a make-up will pay a $50.00
instructional fee.
2. POOL SESSIONS: The student may attend a pool session with any regularly
scheduled pool session ( space available basis within a 6 month time period, if
longer, the student must do a
SCUBA
Review). A private pool session is
available for a $80.00 instructional fee.
Any student who schedules a pool session and does not show-up at the pool at
the proper time forfeits the no charge pool session and must pay an $80
instructional fee when rescheduling the pool session. Any student who attends
and does not successfully complete a pool session and requires a make-up will
pay an $80.00 instructional fee. If the swim test is not completed by the start
of the second pool session, the student cannot continue with the class. The swim
( and pool session ) can be made up with another scheduled class if space is
available. No open water dives are allowed until swim test is passed.
PADI allows a student to complete their open water training at another
facility. This is called a
referral.
The student must satisfactorily complete any portion of the class ( classroom,
pool or any open water dives ) with one facility to be eligible for a referral.
If FDU issues a referral, there will be no refunds made for missed open water
dives with FDU. Also, once a referral is issued by FDU, that terminates any
further responsibility of FDU to the student regarding completion of open water
training. A student may return to FDU after an unsuccessful referral, but must
pay for the open water dives and instruction as listed below. Referrals are good
for 1 year, however, if more than 6 months old, the student must complete PADI's
SCUBA Review ( at a cost of $99.00 plus charter costs).
3. OPEN WATER: The student may attend an open water session on any scheduled
boat trip ( space and instructor available basis ) within a 6 month time period,
if longer, SCUBA Review is required ( see above ).
If a student schedules a boat trip and does not show-up at the boat at the
proper time, the student forfeits the no charge boat trip and must pay the
$55.00 make-up charter boat fee and the $50.00 instructional fee when
rescheduling the open water trip.
If a student attends an open water session, enters the water, but does not
complete the skills of the dive, a make-up is required. In this case a $25.00
instructional fee and a $55.00 boat charter fee will be required. In the event
of seasickness or if the student does not enter the water for any reason, there
will be no instructional fee required for the make-up, but the $55.00 boat
charter fee will apply.
Thank you for your understanding that it simply is not possible to offer you
the level of service that we do without the make-up fees and for making FDU,
Inc. your diving headquarters.
